Maybe some of your other bantams will hatch early. Mine are due on Valentines Day--it's fun watching yours hatch first! I like your idea and would like to keep my #1 hatchling but since mine are all the same breed I don't know if I will be able to tell them apart.

i see what you mean you just have to find a unique marking on your chick or just find a band for it so you know just keep an eye on it

Oh my gosh, that is so cute!! I hope my banties all decide to hatch early. I am at day 17 but those are my Wyandottes so they will probably wait. The next day is when I set my bantams.
