Mine were supposed to be silver penciled wyandotte but now that I look at your pic, I think mine are golden laced instead. Darn breeder sent me the wrong eggs!

Congrats on your duck. I have two developing in the bator now. How long did yours take to hatch?

my duck hatched preatty quick from a pip to a zip to hatched it wasnt that long, but unfortunetly i lose another duck when he pipped his beack gut stuck in the egg it like trapped him and i didnt find it till i came home from work as my wife didnt really want nothing to do with the eggs cuz the chicken eggs stunk the bator up lol it was sad, so i just suggest watch for pips and make sure their bills dont get stuck as they are bigger then the little chicks beeks

they still could turn out to be penciled chicks as i am not 100 % sure mine might even be penciled too but i was just looking at the feather growth i have which is why i said golden laced

I did just do some looking at pix on the internet and it looks like my chicks wing feathers look penciled and not laced but they aren't black and white. I don't think there is a golden penciled wyandotte.
Guess I will just have to be patient and wait until they get more feathers.
I am only one week into the hatch with the ducks. A friend sent me a mixed batch of eggs and it included two ducks. What in the heck do you do with a duck if you don't have a pond???

i am going to just use a small 20 dollar swimming pool one of those cheap plastic ones that you can prob pick up from craigslist for free lol just be careful as duck eggs are due at 28 days not 21 so be careful when your chicks hatch not to toss them arround to much i think that is what killed one of mine it was fine till after i started having my chickn eggs hatch, just becareful and im lettign you know i suggest you get all the hatched eggs and unhatched eggs out of bator before the ducks hatch as those eggs will start stinking, trust me from experianc ei was goign to leave mine in till the ducks hatched but one cracked open and oozed out this nasty smalling oooz and boy did it stink the room up so just be careful
