ok, so after this topic here, I thought this was Marek, already called the veterinary and he is supposed to stop by to cull her:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/what-is-wrong-with-my-chicken.1357480/

BUT

just now I went to the cage and to my surprise the chicken was standing up (but still out of balance sometimes and very weak).

was even more surprised when I saw she had layed a nice egg. since I do not know what is wrong, I just gave the egg to her together with some scraps (lettuce, meat, pasta, etc). she ate a bit of everything.

here she seems to be a bit more fragile while walking

but I noticed something very odd. when she breathes it sounds like a cat purring. I had a respiratory disease problem last year with an infected bird and some other chickens were also infected.

here, in this video you can hear this:

What do you think? is this the respiratory disease that is causing her to be so weak? can this cause legs to be weak, using wings to have some balance?

please help me because the veterinary will be here soon.

If it was Marek she was not looking so healthy (she has a very good colored crest) one of characterist symptoms of Marek is neck paralysis and the change of eye color to grey - don´t seem to be that. The small chicks are all vaccinated to Marek before entering the commercial chain. It´s more likely CRD,it´s chronic because it comes and goes, sometimes little temperature changes or any kind of stress triggers the symptoms of the disease otherwise latent...

but do you think that the respiratory disease is the cause of her legs going down? and being so weak? in the videos I was not able to capture this but sometimes she is walking with the wings helping to balance the body (if this description makes sense).

EDIT: now that you mention temperature changes, we went from cold to very hot and back to cold in only a couple of weeks.

ok, will bring the cage to my garage, lets see if she can recover.

CRD is a very distressing disease and have other diseases associated such as coccidia. If I had a chicken like yours I would not worried much , temperature dropped fast in the last days in Portugal so it`s most likely a cold...if the vet is still going there ask him...

For now the chicken is already inside the garage sleeping.

Already boiled eggs and will give her a nice meal with eggs, yogurt, rice and meat.

In the water should I put some apple cider vinegar? I really want to save her.

Hi :) i'm really glad she's doing better and you hadn't to cull her!
do you know what type of respiratory disease your flock had in the past?
Do you know if it was bacterial form or viral form?and had she already caught that disease?
Chickens can remain carriers of a respiratory disease during all the life, and it can come out in stressfull situations.
Reading the other thread i didn't understand if you finally checked for egg bounding..
