I just finished reading this entire post and with her still panting it really does sound like she could have a respiratory infection. I believe that is the root cause of all the problems and my experience with respiratory infections has taught me that neither durmyacin10 or penicillin will help at all really. Tylan 200 given as an injection into the breast muscle at the rate of 0.4 cc on days 1, 3, and possibly even 5 has saved countless hens for me. I think the sooner you can get her some the better. I sure do wish you luck with her.

I have her in a pan of water out on my front porch. She is just laying in it.... Fought me and the kids a little then just layed there, and is still laying there.

I spoke with one of the vets at valleyvet.com and he told me the two best medications on the market for poultry respiratory diseases and infections was tylosin which is the drug in Tylan and also another medicine that is called LS-50 which you put in the water.

She is still soaking.. Just took her temp and it is 107.1 . Sent a PM to dawg53 and he made a good point, her quality of life is not getting better. I might have to make a tough, no, VERY tough decision soon. I don't know what to do.....Tylan?....or......

My opinion is that, if she makes it through the night, dose her heavily with antibiotics. Give her two days to see if those are helping and if there isn't great improvement, then you will have to help her on her way to her next life. If it's an infection, the antibiotics will help a lot, if it isn't an infection, then I don't know what else you can do.

Ok I have liquid tylenol for children here and I dosed out aprox 1ml for her. Does that sound close to the right dosage? there are 80mg per 1/2tsp?
