UPDATE WITH PICS-POST #16 & #17- Long Wooden Feeders

I make mine out 1 gallon milk jugs. I cut 3 holes in each jug long about 6 inches and about 4 wide ..I stay away from the bottom of jug about 5 inches... works nice and I tie each jug with a strink thur the handle to a fence or cage.. I got long wooden feeders and they wasted lots of food.. I love the milk jugs..

if you are going to put your feeder in the yard than used a rain gutter and can glue on the ends. and drive a pole into ground and mount the rain gutter to it by nail one ones at the each end and one in middle . and it is neck height of my birds

to wash it out i used my hose sprayer to do it.
if you buy the gutter at lowes or home depot they would cut for u they did for me

Thanks for the suggestions. Yea, I will definitely have to mount down whatever is in the chicken yard because the geese and ducks are so big, they will tip over and knock over anything on the ground.

UPDATE:

Ok. I talked to a friend on yesterday and told him what I wanted. He texted me these pictures a few minutes ago. He made these 2 feeders for me in about 30 minutes this morning. I'm so happy !!!!!!!!!

He said all of the animals ran over to the wooden feeders to eat. None of them can tip them over. THANK GOODNESS !!!

Those look great!

But I'm afraid my birds would roost on the top of those. That is why I was thinking about going with the pointed wire slats on mine. Could you please post and let me know if your birds use these feeders as roosts. Thanks!

I thought the same thing about the roosting part. I'm hoping that mine won't do that but I will keep you posted if they use it to roost on. I sure hope not.
