UPDATE WITH PICS-Post #68: Ordering on Amazon.com. Have you?

ANOTHER UPDATE ABOUT DAMAGED ITEM:

After 3 days of trying to contact the vendor (Poster Revolution) to inform them of my damaged item, I finally got an email from them. I called the number that Amazon gave me and explained to them that the tin sign was received damaged. They took my name and message each time (3 times) I called and said that someone would get back with me within 24 hours. Well, it took them 72 hours to finally get back with me by email. This is what they emailed me:

"I'm sorry to hear that. All of our shipments are 100% guaranteed. We would
be happy to ship out a replacement if you would like. Please let me know if
that would be acceptable.

Thanks,

Daphne A.

I replied to this email and told them that I would appreciate a replacement. I explained to them that they must stamp "DO NOT BEND" on the outside on the envelope, otherwise, the sign may be damaged AGAIN.

So we'll see what happens.

OK, sarcasm on my part here, you mean that post office person couldn't tell that it was a METAL sign in the envelope when it didn't bend back?If I am missing something, I just picke dup on this thread. YEs, AMazon's fault, but jeeze, common sense and courtesy, if the envelope is slightly stiff, WHY force it?

You hit it on the head. That is the same thing that I told the postmaster. He said that they wouldn't necessarily realize that it was metal. I was like "HUH"!

I called Amazon and they gave me a number to the company that shipped the tin sign. Poster Revolution is the name. I called them and they have submitted my complaint to another department. They said that I will hear back from someone within 24 hours.

I still can't believe this happened. How could the mail lady BEND A METAL SIGN IN HALF AND SHOVE IN MY MAILBOX???!!!!

Her twin in my mail carrier, swear to God! No common sense, no respect for other people's property or things, etc. I try to use UPS or Fedex rather than USPS just because of their shoddy service. Serenity now!

Glad to hear you are getting the problem resolved. Now for another stern conversation with your mail delivery person and her supervisor, just in case the new package is not marked DO NOT BEND!

I had a mail lady from hell a while back too. If she couldn't squash a package into our box she would either just leave it on the ground next to the box at the end of our rural drive way or she would drive down the driveway, circle past the house and fly it out her window, letting it land wherever! Even if that meant on the lawn while the sprinklers were running! It takes a lot to get me really mad but after that I had a HOT conversation with her supervisor and none of that ever happened again. Plus I now have a new mail lady who is superb!

The ONLY time I ever had a problem with Amazon is when I ordered three magazine subscriptions through them. It took almost six months to receive the first issue of one of the magazines. This particular magazine NEVER took that long before and I had been receiving that magazine for years. Amazon washed their hands of it all and said any problems with subscriptions should be dealt with through the agent and I was provided with their toll free numbers. I will buy through Amazon again but NEVER magazines. It was up to Amazon to follow up if their were problems with the magazines.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Well, after 2 weeks of going back and forth trying to get a replacement sign because the first sign that I received was BENT, below you will see how I received the replacement sign.

I thought about contacting them again to let them know that I am having the same problem but I won't even bother. I don't want them to think that I am trying to scam them. Really - How many times can a person receive a bent sign before they begin to look suspicious. I guess I"ll just try to bend it back in place and just put it on my chicken house. They didn't ask me to return the first bent sign, so now I have 2 bent signs. 2 bent signs for the price of 1. What else can a girl ask for.

I'd take that package that clearly says Fragile and the sign and go to the post office. If they don't give you satisfactory help there then ask for the main complaint number and go up the chain. I had to go over a postmaster's head once because they refused to honor insurance on an item THEY broke, I turned in the info and the item to them and they LOST the item, but not the paperwork. Told me that it was too bad for me because they had to have it all........well, you HAD it all......so I went over their head and it was handled correctly and they got in trouble, as they should have. That's ridiculous that they bent something CLEARLY marked as fragile!
