*UPDATED* Building a new coop - New pics on Page 8

You have a very impressive result to your project so far! The wood is looking very "stressed" which I hear is all the rage these days. That will be an astonishing building once completed.

Some of the future residents of my chicken coop arrived today via USPS from Paul Harter in Missouri. 18 Delaware, 4 Partridge Rock, and 3 New Hampshire

I still have to put boards on the seams and at the corners as well as the fascia boards, but the north and west sides are almost done. South wall will be next (and much more complicated - will include a window and nesting boxes).

I LOVE the cypress wood - don't think I've seen it anywhere around where I live! For an idea on a nest box, check out my BYC page. I've installed the box outside the coop and secured it by sliding it into the inside of the coop. Hard to explain, so you'd have to see it. I can easily gather the eggs from the outside and it's worked extremely well. I used left over cedar from a rehab project of my parents and stained it - mainly because she had a gallon of stain we had purchased as a sample. Great job - post updates!
