Math teacher I am not, lol, but I am hoping that everyone knows how to convert grams to kg.

15,000 grams = 15kg
1500 grams = 1.5kg
150 grams = 0.15kg
15 grams = 0.015kg
1.5 grams = 0.0015kg

I was just afraid he would see that 5 at the start of your equation and think that was the right dose for a 5 kg bird ;-)
I'm mildly a nut case on including units in my math... which periodically saves me from disaster :-D

Glad to find this. I have at least one (which is anyone's guess) hen with very dark tarry looking poop. Is this an indication of this disorder and if so should I prepare to treat the flock? Going to be getting new chicks but they obviously won't be integrated any time soon...not even ordered yet. But I sure do want to make sure everyone else is healthy ahead of time. Thanks in advance.

It;s possible that it's just cecal poop. Can you post a picture?

I was just at a very informative site hosted by a lady named Kathy! According to TheChickenChick, I've nothing to worry about. All the normal poop pics are what I've seen. Have had absolutely zero evidence of anything scary.

But I have to laugh. I'd lamb-sat all winter for a discarded babe of our neighbors. Tilley had some gut issues and many diaper pics went back n forth between us. And we all know our electronic comm is being monitored. I can only imagine what they already think of me!
