UPDATED!! Does He have SADDLE FEATHERS?!?! (pic heavy)

This is soooooooo funny. XD XD XD POOR TWIGGY! He/she is STILL undefined - but yeah still has baby feathers even at 11 weeks. I'm going to keep him/her either way tho.

Thanks for the info on feed. When to start feeding oyster shell? They free range for about 12 hours a day, so no need for grit, correct?

Thanks again everyone. Much appreciated.

Buff Orpingtons are hard to sex until they get a little older I have Orpingtons (buff, lavendars and B/B/S) and they are tricky little things. You will know for sure when you hear a crow or get an egg

Twiggy MAY be a cockerel. Betty and Gertie and Estelle and Lizzie are pullets.

I feed grower/finisher feed to my entire flock, as I have chickens of all ages. (Up to 8 weeks, they get chick starter.) I put oyster shell out free choice all the time; only those that need it will partake of it on a regular basis. Sometimes a roo or a young pullet will sample it, but only the laying hens chow down on crushed oyster shell. Don't mix it with their feed, offer it separately. An empty tuna can nailed to the wall inside a coop, by the feeder, works well for this purpose.

If they're free ranging or have yard in their run, they're most likely getting all the grit they need.

I don't know about Twiggy either. Sorry. But just thought I'm share that I fed chick starter/grower until about 16 weeks and then began mixing it gradually with layer feed. I began to offer a dish of oyster shell in addition when they began laying. (One doesn't like the oyster shell, so I add crushed egg shell to the oyster shell as well).

I have one that looks like a younger version of Twiggy (minus the comb redness), so will be waiting with baited breath to see what happens with yours. I can't have a rooster, so hoping for a girl.

Kinda like this is a smiley face : :)

To everyone else: I had no idea to feed them the starter/grower stuff up to 16 weeks. I'm glad I asked. And THANKS for the feedback. You people are so nice.
