They used to treat head injuries with IV concentrated glucose to draw the swelling/fluid out of the tissue. They don't treat that way anymore, but last ditch effort I would be trying anything.

Sadly, final update.

Our little guy didn't make it. He seemed to improve to a certain point and then declined. He never did eat on his own.
