*Updated thread with Pics of Baby Dove*

There are some fanciers that would frown on feeding pellets to pigeons. They personally are my staples except in winter months when I feed a bit more corn and a mix of rabbit pellets. I personally think variety is the spice of life as the saying goes. Your doves will let you know what they think of crumbles by the amount they eat.
sorry to veer off course but i was wondering after you guys mentioned what you feed your pigeons it got me wondering what i should feed, right now i feed them a scratch that the feed mill sells it has cracked corn, sunflower seeds, wheat, millet, and oats is this ok or do i need something else

they have the purina pigeon stuff but it is almost 30 dollars a bag

$30 a bag is really high! What does it have in it? i hope Hokum Coco chimes in on the food issue, as i am far from an expert. Anyhow, on another note, i finally figured out how to post a video link. i hope this works. It's a cute video of Pinkie stretching. Pardon the poopy paper towels. i hadn't cleaned yet.

awwww i used to raise doves and loved them but something killed them and i went to pigeons there are times i miss them and think of switching back but i hate raiseing something that has to stay cooped up. the feed i am talking about looks like little green pellets that look like beads the stuff in it is- calcium, ground corn, soybean meal, oats, beet pulp, a bunch of vitamins and minerals, and crude animal fat it sounds good but like i said the stuff is just a little over 25 dollars before tax if it helps the stuff is sold in two types green and gold the gold is only supposed to be used during breeding season and it's proabably five dollars more

Stick to the feed you're giving.... it's diverse enough.... you don't have to pay much for less natural food ;)
