Updated w/pix!: I hate to bring back up diapers but.....

maybe after you first put it on her give her something really yummy like a worm or something else equally delicious. perhaps she will start to associate the diaper with deliciousness and will like to have it on!

byw - she looks very cute - almost like she's gettin' ready to make breakfast with her apron on!

Thanks for the advice hen! I plan on just keeping her in diapers a few hours a day so she can get some cuddle time with mom inside! tonight we watched the truth about cats and dogs and then she went to sleep for the night!

Thanks feeble! I love the diaper on her, I bought a ton of cheap fabric at walmart so I'm gonna make her some more tomorrow I think! I will get more pictures up once I get some new patterns!

I was thinking about making her a "dress" diaper too with frills on the pouch! I will definitely post pictures of that one!

I did a lot of trial and error to get it figured out so I can probably help!

Tucson- I'm also having the same problem with the elastic straps on the diapers from Ruth. I had thought of using velcro but your idea of masking tape is a good one so I am going to try that first. Thanks!!!

Hi Kris Rose ~

I use masking tape several ways.
The sandwich bag is shortened and
narrowed and given a little stiffening
so that it fills the poopy pouch better
all by using tape.

Then I use tape to hold the bag in
place, so that the poo doesn't fall
in the cloth pouch, but rather safely
into the plastic.

When I make more, I will substitute
ribbon for the elastic straps. And will
join the ribbon straps so that it will be
in the shape of a ladder.

Then add a button so we can get away
from using two safety pins.

I have really wanted to see Fancie (a
white Silkie) with a lacy bottom on her
diapers, that will be really cute.

Does anyone have any other handy
hints?

well the design I made stays on her great and uses no pins or velco or elastic or anything... You might not be able to see it really well but the thick strap has two hole, the lower one goes over her head, the second one, at the end of the strap, lay on her back between her wings, I cut a slit there too! What I do it take one of the straps a run it through there, then pull up the other one and tie them in a knot and then a bow. the straps run on either side of her tail feathers so it holds the diaper in place pretty well!

I also lined the pouch with vinyl to get rid of the cost of plastic baggies over and over! this way I can just scoop out the poop with a paper towel and then wipe it clean with a wet paper towel! if you go to walmart a lot of times you can get vinyl scraps in their scrap bin really cheap! I got enough vinyl for 3 diapers (since she is so small!) for like $0.67! that is where I got a lot of cloth too, for her tiny little butt 1/8 yard is enough for one diaper easy! So fabric that is $1.00/yard is the way to go for me!

I'm working on one that is white with little blue roses that I'm gonna add frills too so I will get pictures of it as soon as I get it done!

If anyone has any questions please feel free to email or pm me and I can try to help!

The vinyl works great, but I would recommend going with a really thin vinyl, the vinyl I got wasn't that thin and it keeps the pouch kinda rigid... My Little Miss doesn't like it to much when she is trying to lay down. Walking around it is fine but when she tries to lay down she ends up trying to readjust every couple of minutes

So I'm not going to line anymore with that thick of vinyl!
