Updating Chicken coop

Most seem to favor keeping dirt floor in the run. How important is it to keep dry? In rainy weather one side gets messy. The run is approximately 8x12 which is on the small size for that many chickens but they do roam during the day. I still have the question. The run is divided in half by chicken wire and to get to either side they have to go out and in through the other door. Would it be better to open this up and not have as many feeders and waterers?

I would take out the divider and open it up. You may still have to have at least a couple waterers and feeders for that many chickens.
Ditto Dat^^^
And add some larger wood chippings to the run ground.
What does inside of coop look like?

The floor inside the coop is also dirt and that’s where it’s really difficult to clean. Beside the coop and where the human entrance is has a wooded floor and room for storage. I may see about using some of this space to expand as the coop is a little small in my opinion. It’s divided by lattice. There’s a total of 5 nesting boxes.

Red circle is what is usually called the 'coop'.
Blue circle is what is usually called the 'run'.

Inside. I didn’t open the roosting area to take a pic as the girls were starting to settle in.

Maybe more pics another time.
It looks like a nice structure, could probably do a lot with it, depending on your goals and seeing more of the coop.

Hi, I'd leave the run dirt.. unless it rains every day or at least every other day, it shouldn't be a problem, I've had mine knock over their auto waterer drained a 2500 gallon water tank (we are water haul), so the results of that was a mud bog that I sank up to the tops of my sneakers. I'm confused about a couple of things, how is the floor of the coop dirt when it's sitting at such a angle.. and can you figure out why on earth all that lattice? personally? I'd remove all of that and open it up.
