Let me try loading a photo here that has never gotten past the timeout stage.

Took about 30 some seconds but it worked on the first try!

I rersize before uploading because I want to be the one in control of how the image will look. Not all resizing software is equal. I also am uploading much smaller files which makes a difference on how quickly they load for the viewers.

There are times when BYC gags on files with lower compression ratios and sometimes they gag on an image that is fine for no apparent reason and uploading it a second later works.

I have had this happen to me too..
Sometimes it takes a few attempts to get a picture to load.
I always just blamed it on internet issues.

When I am trying to upload a picture in a known not good wifi spot in my house the same thing happens as you mentioned.

Yep.
Or the file size was too large.

Just loaded this photo on a convo, it took 100 seconds but it didn't time out, whereas in the past it probably would have...

After about 70 seconds my photo stopped uploading and the file name changed to strike through text. Tried the original photo and same result. Changed the size like I always do to 1200 x 900 and saved at 50% and it uploaded. Never have I reached the 300 second timeout.

One at 159 Kb saved at 75% fails after 45 seconds.

Sorry my friend, it looks to be something isolated to your unique system or connection to our servers. We've got literally hundreds of people loading thousands of images every week, and we're just not seeing other reports. Additionally, we can't duplicate the issue regardless of what we do.
