UPSTATE NY chickenstock OCT 3rd Sunday!! -The aftermath and hatching

These are still available. PM me if interested.

The only thing that I am planning to bring up besides eggs is two female ducks if anyone wants them. The black one is a Swedish mix (18 mo. old) and the other is a pure khaki Campbell (just turned 1yr. old this week). I love them to death but I need the space for another breeding pen. The black one is just completing her molt so she should be laying again soon. The Campbell lays faithfully everyday. Let me know if you are interested otherwise I'm not going to haul them up there.

I think I am going to make my food ahead of time, too. I will just need to borrow your over for a bit on saturday night. Is that OK? Gretchen is coming up and spending the night at our house Friday night, then we are heading out early Saturday morning to get to your place. Any idea on how many hot dog and hamburger rolls I need to get? Is anyone else getting them, too, or am I getting them all?

I think I may talk Jeremy into making a plucker or two to raffle off. They are simple to make and make processing so much easier.

mm not sure how many dogs and burgers we have to cook-I have 20 packages of dogs and 40 lbs of burger--not expecting to cook all of that but better dafe than sorry I say-My MIL has her antique shop next to my house and she sells rolls and such too Im sure shell have an extra 5 packages of each if needed:) The oven is all yours ooh and mine as I will be cooking too between teh both houses we'll have plenty of psace to put all food overnight:)

Figured out I have the PERFECT travel layer cake recipe. Chocolate Amaretto Cake. Super chocolatey chocolate cake with 4 layers soaked in Amaretto and iced with heavy duty chocolate amaretto ganache. The ganache sort on firms up and seals it so it can't go stale and shouldn't melt unless we hit a real heat wave! Very rich. I'll stick it onto the base of the cake case with ganache so it won't slide around (this is a real danger because of the way I drive - I've lost a few cakes that way).

Grand Marnier bundt cake. Ginger Cookies, Ultimate Lemon Bars, Greenwich Village Brownies, Chocolate Pecan Toffee. Calorie-wise, ya'll are SO doomed. Maybe Chess Bars, depending on time and inclination.

upon reflection, maybe something called The Best Darn Lemon Cake instead of the Chess Bars. Hm. Have to see how it goes.

Brindle, you'd better watch out. Making all of that stuff, you may have a bunch of people following you home!

Anybody following me home would be sorely disappointed! I can't keep this stuff around the house 'cause I have a VERY low level of self control around sweets. Nowadays I bake when I can take it all somewhere and ruthlessly abandon it at someone else's house! My posterior would be bigger than the proverbial side of a barn instead of just an axhandle.

hot diggity dog brindle! Im in heaven---- you go girl-yah what jeremy sayd screw the birds Im all about the desserts now!!!

I am so glad I'm down for soda (would bottles be ok? I'll bring cups too if so - less wasteful than all those cans!) - I can't cook to save my life!

Everything sounds so yummy!

The raffle sounds like so much fun - I am glad there are quite a few prizes - I've never won a raffle in my life and I might actually have a chance! Will it be all one big raffle or for separate items? If it's all one big raffle we can trade around if needed - like if I win a plucker!
