Cool pics, Nat! Doesn't your dog keep the predators away? He certainly looks like he is in protection mode. lol Is that a fox or a coyote in the pics? Jungle out there, isn't it! lol
yah you saw both well 3 raccoon-fox and coyote! I havent lost a bird in two years because they all get locked up at night! They cant get into garage and teh coop has wired floors with a ton of dirt over it! ba$$terds arent getting my babies! oh and the dog would kill my birds-haha he is never allowed to roam like that until all birds are locked up-he goes for alot of leash walks! My chihuahua though is the chicken lover-he sleeps with them in the sun-plays cat and mouse with them and he always loses-he's a goood dog
I also lock every bird in a coop at night, even tho the majority of them are in runs with netting over top. I am NOT taking any chances. But, my silkies are in 4' fences (what used to be our dog kennels). Still locked in at night, but no netting over the fences. Then, had that racoon (I think) attack last week in DAYLIGHT! Killed my three BEST silkies .... I was devastated. So, now I am building up the posts to 6', adding additional wire, and putting netting over top of them, too. Netting should arrive today --- I HOPE! Then, I'll be done with that project.... what a relief that will be!
Noticed the have-a-heart trap in the photos was sprung. Did you catch anything?
