Yes Bailey was one of my first local chicken friends...he def doesnt help me say no! LOL

You better visit! Just give me a heads up the next time you are up this way! Isn't it weird that you know Bailey and we graduated HS together, in Lebanon, NH! 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon and all that.

My eggs from everyone are cooking away too! I am sad today, lost two beautiful birds - my most friendly australorp and my GLW, which for a hatchery bird was pretty gorgeous. I'm trying to figure out what killed them.

What the heck does that???? Someone on the predator board thinks it was a hawk. We were thinking about an electric fence but that's not going to stop a hawk and the guineas need to get out or they'd probably eat each other. Sigh.

Had an escape tonight while cleaning the coops. One of the little mutants I took in got out, ducked under the fence and ran out front. She came back for bed time, but when I tried to open the door so she could go in she took off for the blackberry brambles. Ugh. Silly bird!

I'm not worried about anything trying to get through those prickers. I just hope she's warm enough on her own. I'm sure she'll be out for breakfast in the AM.Never a dull moment!
 
I would love to see a pic of your mutants! I was very intrigued by your description of them.


We have Catdance Silkies hatching in the bator right now! 6 of 13 out so far. Cute little buggers!
