URGENT Advise from all your lovely guys here!!

Great timing, I was just going to post and ask how she was doing? Glad to hear there is some improvement. Good job, Nurse 6chickens! I don't know about the red spots, suppose they might have been from the mites? Maybe a little aloe vera on them?

yeah that sounds like a good idea. i was paniking (sp) that it was something much worse!

she nearly drowned herself today lost balance head first into her yoghurt pot of water. Silly chicken luckily i was just round the corner in the kitchen at the time

Update: Still not eating but she is feeling hungry. She is much more accepting of food and not fighting it. Managed to really fill her crop with pellets and gave her water and antibiotics.

She seems stronger but the marks on her crop is spreading almost like a rash now and ideas

It's just on the crop? that is interesting. Glad to hear she is hand feeding well. But tell that girlie it is time to feel better and give her chicken mom a break

too right!! it has been agreed that a new born is easier to look after that a sick chicken that wont eat!

She is moving around. I found her spralled on the mat a foot away from her pillow shes flapping and suprising herself.

Spoke to the vet today and he has advised me to continue her antibiotics. with regards to the dots. Told to use sudocream (antiseptic cream) and see how that goes

I thought of suggesting that, here I would use triple antibotic but I didn't know what you had there. Beware of any of the new type of antibiotics creams or ointments that have lidocaine in them or other ingredients added for pain relief. Do not use this type of ointment on birds. (the ones with pain medication)

Thanks very much for that will watch out in future!!

really perked up on wednesday and thursday and i started to believe that she is going to make it.

However, since friday she has gone down hill. Poo is now solid with green although i am still feeding her. I get up in the morning and her crop is half full. Her left eye is producing bubbles and white sleep almost.

Whats going on now .....

Is there anyone online that recognises what is going on with my little girlie?

The lumps (see pic page 4 i think) are starting to scab over. They are not wet at all but i have noticed that they are on her legs as well and on her toes. She is starting to hold her head up but still not eating for herself and the poo is still solid and green

I don't see a pic. but I'm going through the same problem, I think but with chicks. I had 8 and now I'm down to 7, lost one today. The moma hen has this problem too but she is getting better with the treatment my dad bought me. The bumbs are dry and I just peel them off when there really dry since I don't want the chicks or the hen to bleed by the eyes. So yeah the hen can know see on both eyes.
