My dark Brahma, Clarice was attacked last night just after dusk, went out to lock up and she wasn’t on her roost, found a clump of feathers with tissue attached and her huddled in a corner of the run. I have removed her, cleaned the wound and treated with vetericyn (what I have on hand). She is alert, eating and drinking and entirely unhappy to be in a crate. BUT the wound is gnarly and not for the faint at heart (me, but I’m dealing) I have contacted a vet but she’s out until tomorrow. What else could I or should I do to help her? Can she survive this or should she be euthanized? I’ve had chickens for a year and have never experienced anything like this. Any and all advice welcomed.

Do you have New Skin?
Also, if she's still eating, drinking, alert and herself, I would say she has a fighting chance if you keep infection away. Chickens can come back from some very bad things. As long as they act like themselves, the better chance they have of surviving.
Could you send some more pictures, maybe at different angles, too?

I had a Black Sex-Link attacked by a fox with a 4 inch gash along her back and side about 1/4 inch deep and another one under her wing. She acted fine, ate, drank, even layed an egg! I gave her some probiotic water/electrolyte water and kept her isolated. We sprayed Vetericyn on it and applyed Neosporin. We kept applying New Skin and she healed up. You never would have known 8 weeks later, besides where her feathers that came back in were a deeper shade of black!

Grab some Bacitracin cleansing wash while you out clean gently neosporin without pain killer those are the best to care for it .. She has a great chance to recover a bit of nutri drench is helpful also that from a farm store

I do not have nuskin, but I will get some! Is it just the stuff from a pharmacy? She is eating and drinking fine, she just laid an egg too. I have her in a dog crate in my office so she’s separated and in a quiet environment.
You can get it at Walmart I believe, but with this pandemic, you could also order it. Problem is it doesn't come very fast that way:hmmwe got the spray so you can just spray it on, easier that way.
