have a hen, unknown breed but black and white, not obese, with something hanging out her backside. possibly due to low calcium. Other 8 hens, various breeds, are fine. this one has been pecked at before, on her back. We live in Michigan and it's been cold. She was fine yesterday, I cleaned out the coop and put fresh straw in. The coop is not heated, is vented, but does have insulation in roof. These hens have been out there 2 winters and been fine.
She has been brought inside and cleaned up. installed in a cage inside, with roost and water.

Looks like a prolapse, I'll tag a few people here for advice. Best of luck to you!

You said you cleaned her up did you check to make sure no egg inside the prolapse? What you need is some Hydrocortisone ointment slather it over the prolapse and try to gently push this back inside. You might have to do it many times. you don't want the tissue to dry out it has to stay moist.
Keep her inside and away from the other chickens because they will go after that prolapse.
If trying many times and it won't stay then a vet can take some stitches and close the vent enough to keep it in but she can still poop.

Be sure to keep the prolapsed tissue outside the biddy moist with honey or oil to keep it from drying out and dying. When you can try pushing the prolapse back inside, hold it there for a few minutes. It may come back out, but push it back in when you see it out. It should eventually stay in. It cannhelp to soak the vent area in warm Epsom salts water or soapy water daily until the prolapse is back in. Here is some reading:
