My chick pipped 24 hours + ago and started unzipping very soon after (within an hour of my noticing the pip) and the. Stopped after starting and was really struggling.

So I assisted by removing the shell around the air cell as advised.

Please tell me if this baby is ready or should I leave him longer? He’s still trying to get out. No peeping but his beak is trying to tear out.

I don't have chickens but I have incubated duck eggs & my incubator wasn't working properly either & the humidity dropped causing them to shrink wrap, I also had to help them out, it looks like that is what has happened to this egg, the membrane looks dry, is it?????

Yes it is very dry. Humidity is at 76%

It’s dry but my question is more about wether or not the blood has all been absorbed in the photo?

It looks like it is, hopefully someone with more knowledge about this will get on here soon, but I was told to put coconut oil on the membrane to soften it but when mine was stuck I put the oil on them slowly torn at the membrane to help it out. Good Luck

Thanks xx

I’m having a nightmare. Was suggested that I assist as she started unzipping and then struggled so I helped and now I feel she’s not ready, what do you think? She’s definitely shrink wrapped.
