Urgent help with baby bird we found

He looks too big to be a baby hummingbird. Hummingbird babies are way smaller than that.

The pink area is just his crop showing through.
Since he isn't fledgling age he won't move around hardly at all yet.
I'm not sure what kind of birds you guys have there, so I don't know what it is. I'd try to get it to a rescue, they'll know about the local birds and be able to help it more.
Maybe he's a teen hummingbird then? Because he's eating the nectar we're giving him just fine, and when we first found him he was trying to fly.

Please be very careful if handling him and then your own flock. I would keep him in an area away from them and make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after touching anything in the area he is being housed in. If he is a baby he may not eat regular bird food. My suggestion is to call the closest zoo or animal rescue tomorrow morning and ask for help and if they will take him in to assess.
yes, try to get help and avoid handeling him as much as you can if possible

I have seen videos of baby hummingbirds. They don't look like your bird. If he opens his mouth wide, feed dog food. I think if you look on the internet you will find several videos of orphan baby hummingbirds being raised by people. You will find them interesting, if nothing else.

This morning he woke up ok, he has a lot of apetite and eats the provisional nectar we're giving him. He also seems more alert. However we're worried that he is not getting enough protein and calcium intake. Does anyone know a good source of these minerals for young hummingbirds?

I would just go buy calcium powder and mix it with the nectar and for protein can you find bugs?
