No baby oil, especially if you're in a colder climate. He won't be able to keep himself warm. To encourage healthy feather growth, a good poultry vitamin does wonders. For temporary shine, you can use the show-trick of "polishing" his feathers with a silk cloth. I use an old silk scarf I picked up at the thrift store. It puts a nice shine on our Nankins' feathers on show day!

Great stuff !!!
Regarding the oil ? I saw a YouTube video called steal rail game farm and was just picking up pointers from there ?

I just want him in tip top condition? What about a heat lamp

I guess the heat lamp depends on where you're located. If the temps don't go below freezing, and/or there aren't any major drafts in your coop, there shouldn't be a need for heat. It's not worth the fire risk.

Seriously, he's fine. Don't use heat because it can make things worse if the power goes out and they aren't used to the cold. Just don't let the building have drafts and keep moisture down
