Thank you Amiga, I am about to head off to bed in a minute here as well. I will be back at about 7:00-9:00 o'clock tomorrow morning.

Thank you, goodnight, an you are all in my prayers.

It's a little different than chickens because ducks have a different shaped crop than chickens and I have found that you can't tube as much to duck as you can to chickens.

Here are some different crop types:

I haven't processed a duck, but based on what they look and feel like after they eat I think their crops are like the first on the left, maybe the second.

Here is a chicken:

Do I really need to tube feed? Is this something that can get better on its own or do I have the tube feed. I'm not saying I'm not going to, I was just wondering if they are any other options. *just curious*

I haven't read the thread, but tubing is necessary if your bird is losing weight and/or not drinking and eating enough. @PetDuck , could you tell me what treatments you have tried so far so that I don't have to read all 16 pages of this thread? Please include age of duck, weight of duck, antibiotics and other medications used. Thanks, I'm very lazy, lol, and my eyes aren't very good theses days!

Quackers is a 1 and a half year old black Swedish that weighs 5 pounds last she was weighed about a week ago at the vet. She has lost quite a bit of weight since then but I don't have a good scale to weigh her with.
The vet gave her all in all 8 shots of Baytril. They have her fluids two times as well. She is drinking a lot but hardly eating. I even had to fight with her just to get a grub down this morning.

We have been slathering baby food over worms and grubs and feeding them to her. She eats them but spits most of the baby food out. I guess any is good. I tried feeding her lettuce, tomatoes, oatmeal, eggs, her food, and even crickets so far and those are all of her favorite things but he still won't eat them.

She has been drinking about a cup of water with a tablespoon of non-fat Greek yogurt with live cultures every night for three days now.

Fish flavored wet cat food maybe? Just a suggestion, maybe she'd eat it if you mixed in some water. Or you can puree it with small amount of water any syringe feed it? Do some research on this: http://www.oxbowanimalhealth.com/products/type/detail?object=1631 I have used it on my guinea pigs and my chinchilla (not ducks though) to syringe feed when they were not eating due to illness. You can call your vet's office to see if maybe it might help and if they or another vet office close to you carries it. There are different formulations for different species. Maybe take a look around site to see what they have. I know you can use one formulation on reptiles, so maybe ducks?
If you want to keep track of her weight use a regular people scale. Weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding her. You should be able to get a weight that way. Not as good as a veterinary scale which shows ounces, but it might help a little.
Good luck to you.
