~USA LF Lavender Araucana~ new generations coming~~

I ave lavender araucana chicks due in two weeks to hatch. I'm thinking about the next generation, I'd like to introduce silkie feathers but keep the size, any ideas how to do this? Know NOTHING about genetics.

Are you sure they are USA lavender aracuana hatching eggs. as i don't know of anybody else with them that are as far ALONG as we are.. OOPS i see you across the big pond from us..sorry..

anyway
try to get a good clean lavender silkie to cross breed.. or take your lavender araucana when grown and breed them to a good black silkies..

ps..try to use a good clean male black silkie because the hens can hide colors.. same goes, use a good clean visual male lavender silkies as well in which ever direction you choose to go....select for size and type you want, from what you hatch..

So you recommend keeping lavender araucanas and introducing a big black silkie daddy? I can find one somewhere, might just try to hatch some black silkie eggs as I'd love a broody hen too. Apparently araucanas aren't massively broody.

If I can get Lavender eggs to the States I'd be more than happy to ship some on when mine are laying, am getting an outside rooster for my girls too. They'' be the european type though, with a tail. Not sure about the ear muffs, etc, haven't actually seen the parents.

I'll keep the Lavender Araucana roo with my hybrids and the Silkie roo with the Lavender hens, unless I want Lavender Araucana eggs.

Ooops, need another run, good job I have a spare coop already!

Have just got a 6x6 foot shed as a brooder/chicken bits store, can see me putting in breeding boxes too yet!!!

Finally got a bunch of pure lavender araucana eggs to set, been waiting now about 3 weeks to make sure the daddy's are the daddy's we have in the pens..this project was a slow go, because all are incubators have been tied up with local orders..but now we got about 70 5th Gen lavender orpington eggs set AND going to the hatcher in a few days and i will collect a few more araucana to set with these.. ALL EGGS ARE FROM 3 DIFFERENT BREEDING PENS. here's pic's of the first USA Large fowl lavender araucana eggs waiting to go into the bators..
