USDA inspection? For local farm market

I am new to the chicken world but was considering getting my license to sell our extras (we'll see). It looks like it's pretty easy and inexpensive in Missouri. What do you mean by the insurance? What should I consider?

I suggest you start your own thread with your question--you'll get far more responses. The OP hasn't been on BYC in about a year and I don't even see the information on kodiak so they may be long gone.

I suspect that they mean some sort of Umbrella liability insurance. What if someone come down with Salmonella after eating eggs you sold them? They may try to come after you to reimburse medical bills. That sort of thing could bankrupt a person.
