Using Crow/Owl Calls CD to Deter Hawks?

So I am not sure if this works. Today there was a hawk in the neighborhood. I have an owl decoy also in the backyard that I move around and I turned the owl CD on. The hawk did not roost in the tree as they usually do but he moved on to another house. I am not sure if that means it worked or not, but I was hoping he would leave the area. That did not happen.

Depending on the type of owl call on the CD it might attract owls to your chicken coop which I think are as bad as hawks. Also, constantly playing the calls of native species is unethical and could be illegal as it could cause problems for the owls in your area (some owls eat other owls, the owls will waste their valuable energy looking for the nonexistent owl, etc.).

Sorry if my last post was harsh. I didn't mean to imply that you're bad for doing this. I just wanted everyone to be informed that this could potentially harm the wildlife.

You being in Florida, that my friend is a red shouldered hawk similar in color to the coopers and sharp shinned.

And it seems that the hawk doesn’t care one bit about that fake owl.
