In the Brooder
Use the metal barrels for feed storage only. If the metal gets hot it will affect the nutrients in the feed. If it gets really hot, plus exposure to humidity, seems like a potential fire hazard? I've seen a lot of mulch spontaneously combust in parking lots, lol. Also, you risk bugs getting in the feed at night and contaminating it/dying and molding inside it, especially given the amount of time I would hope it takes your chickens to consume that much feed. Much better off with smaller feeders that you refill every day or two.
For the metal bins, condensation can be an issue depending on where you live. Get some of the large size silica gel packets off Amazon, and a pack of those little drawstring mesh party bags from your local dollar store. Put a packet into the mesh bags, tie shut, and drop one at the bottom, pour some feed in, add a few more as you're pouring the feed. Mesh will keep the packets from being damaged by feed grinding against them, and they'll keep your feed dry.
