Using peepers (blinders) the reason?

I'm wondering if using peepers on my two roosters, they can coexist together in the same coop without killing eachother? What are the reasons for using blinders? Will blinders help keep feather picking at bay? Jane

Peepers are like little opaque sunglasses that sit on top of the birds beak and are attached by running a clip through the birds nostrils. The bird isnt blinded, it just can't see straight ahead to peck at others. You know how birds cock their head to look at stuff with one eye, so they get around and eat and drink just fine. I heard that they also use them for egg eaters, the valueable rare breeds like Marans, etc.

The only bad thing is you have to punture the sinus cavity to put them on.

It seems to not bother them so much after a few days. They are used for pheasants so they do not fight.... so I would say yes, try it.

Yikes. How do you puncture it? I was thinking of getting these for a couple of EEs who have become feather pluckers ...

I don't believe you "puncture" anything. When I look at my birds I can see right through from one side to the other.
