Using timber oil on coop?

Curious your thoughts. I'm building another coop out of normal untreated wood. I wanted to finish and weather protect it with Australian timber oil which I've used on my deck before. Will give the coop a nice dark finish as well. Any known safety issues?

No, it's just a oil type that I use. Live in the states
