USPS is broken---I hope my ducks were stolen!!

The USPS's tracking system is a joke. All it does is tell you the package was sent and received, they have no ideal where it is between those to points. Not only that, the information about receipt may be entered without the actual article being received by the addressee--I've had that happen a couple of times on Amazon deliveries. Fortunately Amazon must have it happen often enough that they took my word for it. While I haven't had problems with chicks I have had plenty with tropical fish and live plants so know how you feel. If only UPS or FedEx handled this kind of thing so we could avoid the USPS completely.

Renate, if you have a reciept and tracking number, file a stolen item claim using USPS form 1000. Express mail is automatically insured for up to $100. Also, since you package did not arrive bythe promised time, you should be entitled a refund on shipping. If you paid by credit card or paypal you might be able to reverse charges and let the seller deal with filing an insurance claim. Since I am now unable to contact the breeder and I don't have a receipt, I decided to reverse charges. I hope this helps and that you can recoup some of your loss.
