Hello everyone,

I recently ordered from Ideal Poultry on Wednesday 1/31 and the order of the 4 ducks were shipped the same day which was supposed to be priority mail! Fast forward 4 DAYS and they still haven't arrived, plus it is Saturday! I'm really concerned since it is cold here in NY and I have a feeling when they arrive it won't be good.. I contacted Ideal today and they said they are closed and they would check tracking ON MONDAY. Very upset.. Has anyone had problems like this before?

I personally wouldn't be ordering from a Texas hatchery if I lived in NY state, but have faith that Ideal took that into consideration when shipping you your livestock.

I ordered Ohio livestock before I ever learned about this Texas breeder and it was a mistake I will never be repeating.

I had faith in them, but I will never be ordering from them again. I knew it would take 2 days or 3 for them to arrive but 4 Days+ is ridiculous.

If you ordered day old chicks I bet most will be just fine on arrival. Please visit Tractor Supply or a local feed store and get ready with electrolyte replacment, and naturally have your brooder in place and ready to go!

I bet that when they arrive to NY you will have loads of "packing peanuts" which are usually cockerels that you will have to deal with. They will be needed to provide body warmth for the 4 you had ordered.

Just please be prepared if you need to rehome them and make plans to feed them as well until that time comes.

I hope your babies actually shipped the next day and it was just the packing label that was created Wednesday!

Also if your post office has Saturday hours, I would drive there. On the phone it may not be likely that someone will go in the back room and look for your package, but in person you may get more accomplished.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

I got an email confirming they were shipped n Wednesday but hope you are correct! Usually when I order my USPS delivers to my house instead of me Calling them or picking them up. Hopefully the are alive when they arrive!
