USPS Shipping?

I bet that when they arrive to NY you will have loads of "packing peanuts" which are usually cockerels that you will have to deal with. They will be needed to provide body warmth for the 4 you had ordered.

Just please be prepared if you need to rehome them and make plans to feed them as well until that time comes.

I have a feed store that will take them, I have a feeling there will be cockerels in the box as they are known to put them in there for warmth.

I had faith in them, but I will never be ordering from them again. I knew it would take 2 days or 3 for them to arrive but 4 Days+ is ridiculous.
Ideal is not the problem. You say yourself they were shipped that same day.
Your problem is the Postal system.
What does the tracking information show when you look that up?

FWIW...My post office has never once called me to tell me that my chicks when in.
I have always had to physically go to the post office to find out.

I don't think that USPS delivers live birds to your street address even if they normally deliver your mail. I think they always hold them at the local facility for pick up. This, however, is good. It means they are likely inside somewhere warm for the time being! Try not to worry too much as there isn't much you can do now but wait for Monday morning.

It's the USPS, I have ordered started pullets from a private breeder in California (I'm in Florida) and they arrived the next day, I have ordered from Ideal Poultry and I get them next day, I ordered from a private breeder in New Jersey and They arrived 24 hours late. I assure you it's not the hatchery, something wrong with USPS when shipping from South to North and vice versa on the East coast!

They always deliver the live birds to my house since the driver is a family friend, hoping they are inside and in a warm place for the time being!

I agree. BTW Welcome aboard!

If they are a family friend why don't you call them and ask if the birds are hiding in the post office.

They never provided me with tracking information, I looked it up and made sure it wasn't just me that didn't get a tracking number.
