Good idea, didn't think of that! I will call them and seeIf they are a family friend why don't you call them and ask if the birds are hiding in the post office.

But when local is NOT an option, I just tried ordering from Murray McMurray Hatcheries(a started pullet to keep my lonely girl company) they mentioned NOTHING about the post protocol till I saw it on my receipt, next to my shipping addy- it states that my order will be held at the post office for pickup- after paying $80 in shipping alone- obviously I cancelled my order bacause im disabled, can't drive& they gave me over a WEEKS window For when that poor bird would arrive- they WOULD not give me any more specific timeframeThats what I was thinking, I will definitely order local from now on!
Thank you! It's the first time I reply been a member forever!I agree. BTW Welcome aboard!
About time!Thank you! It's the first time I reply been a member forever!
I can't speak of OP but I feel pretty comfy saying that this is probably not very common when ordering "newly hatched/babies."Oops- sorry for my post- I should have read ahead... but is it common for them to tell u that your birds will arrive "the week of"? I can't have a driver ready and waiting in the tundra that is north Lake Tahoe for A WEEK& I sure can't get down there and back every day for 9 days either![]()
Mine have always been delivered. I have yet to actually drive to the post office. YEsterday I received a bird and wasn't called but that is probably because I talked to my postal carrier the day before to explain what I had coming in and to verify I was on his route the next day. I felt like a cheeswad for only leaving a 10 dollar tip for my special delivery in the early AM hours.I don't think that USPS delivers live birds to your street address even if they normally deliver your mail. I think they always hold them at the local facility for pick up. This, however, is good. It means they are likely inside somewhere warm for the time being! Try not to worry too much as there isn't much you can do now but wait for Monday morning.
Interesting you mention the no tracking number point this is the second post I have seen this week regarding Ideal and no tracking information. The other poster hadn't received it because they had not shipped yet. They never provided me with tracking information, I looked it up and made sure it wasn't just me that didn't get a tracking number.
