USPS won't get me my chicks in under 72 hours!

Because with this Covid crap the postal service was not so inundated with Amazon
and every other place people order from now

Sadly, our chicks are supposed to arrive on Saturday at 8pm and our post office is closed on Saturday. It used to be open on Saturdays! So I waited 3 hours for a call back from USPS (the phone number at my local post office just rings and hangs up on me because no one is answering the phone -- during Thursday business hours.). The agent that called me back was flippant about the situation and told me that I should have told the shipper to ship it Priority Express. Sorry, hatchery didn't give me that option!!!!!

Ugh. Pray for my chicks please.

aren't they guaranteed? they wont even ship to Alaska. Hoover hatchery might but now im scared thats BS.😬 your not alone i just got dead goldfish from HI so sad and frustrating. wt heck doesnt fed ex ship chicks!

I think the tracking shows the latest possible estimated arrival time, but the actual arrival time should be earlier. Had chicks ship out Monday PM with a Thursday by 8 pm arrival estimate. They got to my PO at 6 am Wednesday.

Thank you! The post office is several hours drive for me so I think I will be prepared to go on Friday vs Saturday now. Thank you, thank you!
Being from MS, I can’t think of anywhere more than 15 minutes away from a post office. I’ve just got to know, if you’re several hours from the post office, where do you live exactly?

My last order hatched and shipped on 4/22 and tracking sort of went into limbo with an estimated delivery of 4/27
Chicks arrived at my local post office on 4/24 -- all healthy and lively :)

That online tracking isn't all it's cracked up to be sometimes.

The USPS is severely underfunded and keeps being slashed at. It’s a miracle it manages to function at all, especially right now. If we want better service, we gotta pay for it - these things don’t happen for free.

Same happened to me! My littles shipped on a Monday morning and were not supposed to get here until Thursday at 8 pm! They arrived at 6:00 am on Wednesday morning happy and healthy as well!

That's terrible. Chicks are supposed to arrive no later than 72 hours and that's by USPS standard. I hope your chicks arrive ok, but if not, make sure to open the box at the Post Office and have them document the situation. Please keep us posted on the outcome and, if bad, who the hatchery is.

That's what I understood. I usually get them over night since the hatchery is not that far away from me. I have good news though. I did receive my chicks this morning - 4 days after they were sent and all 70 are looking perfectly healthy. I really can't believe it! They were sent in the AM on the 19th from PA. The hatchery is Freedom ranger hatchery in PA. Like I said, I have never had an issue with their packages being this late and have received dozens of shippments from FR over the years. @sfchixn have you heard from your post office today?
