Lisa, so sorry. I remember you telling us about her..isn't she the one on your husbands head too? She was a smart bird. I think I just mentioned on here that I would like a nice barred rock in my flock this summer.
I am worried about my Miss Piggy. She laid today, but she still looks awful. She eats fine, she drinks fine. I am like you, she is the one that I want to keep as my forever chicken through a lot of years. I hope she can just make it through this winter. I told my DH yesterday, I'm not sure she will. She is puffed up a lot of the time, but man, we are going to be getting down to 11 degrees next week. I always worry when I don't see her right away when I go out. I just think, hope she's in the nest box, laying. Bless your heart. Glad it happened fast for her. So sorry.
What a fun bird she was!
That Wheaten from you is a great layer already. Love her color of egg! And a nice smooth one too. Now, for that olive egg. LOL, not going to happen with what I chicks I am waiting on. That black one I have outside watching, has a nice thick comb now. Not real tall, but that thickness worries me.
My blue girl is a girl..pretty sure..my 5th generation from my very first blue.
I have that lavender Orpington, getting very pretty. Still going to sell her to the first one that speaks up.
Ha, Red, good luck on finding out who's laying that white egg..I'm waiting to see too!
