Present and accounted for, Soccer started (UGH!) my schedule is going to be crazy!

Gary, that is such a perfect nest idea! I love it! She looks so content in the bucket. Awww. I might need to do that. I have THREE broody girls fighting over two nests right now. I am ready to just give them eggs and get it done with.

Shawn, I am totally p/o'd at your neighbor right now. It sure sounds like they are the culprits. Who.in.the.heck.shoots.a.dog!!!! Seriously. I feel awful Porter had to suffer through that. If only dogs could talk! I hope the neighbors chill out, or better yet move. Now.

Red, you still want to come ride with me to Chickenstock? My DD is super mad at me because she wants to shop that day now for a Senior Ball dress. I do not know when else I am going to have time to do it, gah! I am going to try to make it work, just wondering if you are coming still I might try to go to Ogden one night next week or something if i can get off work early. There is not much here in town for evening gowns.

Well, thanks anyway Red, but the roo is gone.

Early this morning a neighbor also spotted that ad and contacted me... (everyone knows I'm looking for a Del roo!!) I phoned the woman several times (once left a message; the other went straight to voice mail) and finally saw tonight on KSL that she posted it SOLD. Never received a response and couldn't get her to answer the phone!!

Guess that roo wasn't meant for my girls.

Thanks again!!! (plus, good memory remembering I was looking for one!!)

Wish I could come to chickstock. Not gonna happen. Too far for my parents.

You beat me to it, Sundance! XD Yep, Ruby is near my Brahmas now! She's nervous as expected, but still a sweetheart. She's so delicate though, had to close her off... Tested to see how things might be between her and the others, very carefully. Zaphod got over it quickly (was especially worried about him, gentle as he is with people). Lilifey pretty much ignored her. Not sure about Mozart. I saw Sahara peck her a little playfully like she does me, not aggressively. Still watched these three carefully in observation. Kalahari on the other hand was very assertive, so for the sake of all of them, inside the coop itself Ruby has half of it all to herself. Don't worry, things didn't get out of hand, I intervened, and things settled down for Ruby quickly. Not so for my Brahmas. They aren't happy with the change in routine and the lack of attention they're getting. Well, mostly Zaphod and Kalahari. They loudly let me know too. Chickens are like any animal though, they need time to adjust. At least Ruby is doing better than Kalahari and Zaphod, right? Really though, Ruby is fine, I will take good care of her if it kills me!

I had a cuddle session with my Brahmas though. Inside their house. 3 chickens trying to sleep on crouded girl in small space. Fluffy chickens just don't get it. XD. I am, of course, used to friendly birds, so will be happy to add Ruby in there! She's already cuddled a little despite her nervousness. Also cuddled with my Leghorn this morning.

Speaking of which... Yeah, I know that Leghorns are flighty. Wasn't sure what was causing her behavior. Bianca, as I've renamed her, doesn't run much anymore. My Welsummer does though.

My Brahma Mozart appears to have gone broody for a few seconds... XP

Also, a fellow FFA member wants to buy chicks from me. He wants this roo to be the father. It belongs to Wheeler Farm though, so I will have to get permission. I love him though! He's so pretty. And friendly too. Like my Zaphod. Maybe even nicer! Guessing just an Easter Egger drop off, but oh well lol. Beard? Awesomeness? Nice? GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!

He wouldn't sit still. XD

Couldn't get a decent pic of his face. But I love his muff and beard. <3

He has blue legs.

I was thinking that direction, then she told me she has to referee some games that morning, so she cannot come with. **sigh** going to have to see what we can come up with during the week I suppose. Dang! Chickens and Shopping in one day, would be more fun than I could handle

I've gotten such a kick out of watching my little broody frizzle with her three babies. She's such a good mama. They all took right to the water nipple, which was really nice.

Pan, he does look like an EE, and a gorgeous one, at that. The EE roo I wad was admittedly a horn dog, but he was very gentle about breeding the ladies. Hardly any broken feathers, and he was a fairly good-sized boy. Protective father, too. He spurred me once when I was too close to a screaming chick.

Now, my Icelandics, on the other hand........................sigh. Poor Peach and Serah. I hope they moult soon.
