Utah!

Lisa, you are crazy to have that many flower beds. I don't know how you have time.

Kyle, good luck with your hatch!!

I definitely have to be done hatching, at least for a while, after this one- I'm going out of town and won't be around to watch the babies/eggs. I had one egg hatch overnight. I feel pretty sure that the others are dead in shell. I think broody was off them too long and they died. I need to find a chick that was hatched in the last day or two to be a buddy for this new one. In a few, I'm going to attempt to move broody out to the leper colony again, and stick this baby under her and see how it goes.

I'm on the other end of size when it comes to silkies here..I just had all of my Brahamas hatch that are going to hatch. Very pretty birds. They do get big. But, the coloring of this guys birds are amazing! Better than Delawares. Where is pancake..was that her name? She wanted one or two. Sphinx, if you want a buddy, mine hatched the same time as yours. I'm a little closer than Lisa...?? Just a thought. And, Brandi has some Silkies hatching right now. She is in Payson. The dad and mom are a couple that I sold to someone out this way. Buff dad, blue Splash mom..I had posted the blue splash many times..she's gorgeous! I will find pictures. Of the flock the Brahmas came from and a photo of my Blue Splash when I had her.

Here is Cotton and the blue splash I had and is the mom of the ones Brandi is hatching..and, I think she has some from someone else.

My blue splash and cotton in the back.

The light Brahama's flock I just had hatch last night. I got
5 babies. :) They are soo calm. I can't believe how laid
back they are, they remind me of a Cochin's personality.

Thank you for the condolences everyone. It was a long, busy, and emotional day. All over the spectrum. I had a very vivid dream the night before she passed about her. I told my parents the next day. I feel like I had a chance to say goodbye. Her response to me was so loud that it woke me up. For those that believe that can happen, I feel like she came to say goodbye to me. I am so grateful for that.

I have eggs in lockdown that should hatch tomorrow morning :)

Hmmmmm 2 silkies are out, no SG so far..... :barnie

Sphinx I am coming through either tomorrow night or Sat morning if you decide you want me to drop one off. Headed to Lil's to get the Houdan and drop off some chicks for Silly.

This is so frustrating trying to get one SG female. 1 yr later I am still trying.....

Cynthia those will be some pretty hens! Congrats on the quints!

Like me trying to get an Olive Egg. Now I have two pullets that will be ready in a few months. I will have some pretty eggs. My friend has the sister to the show girl that you got from me, and she is now being bred by a Silkie she got from me. You should see that showgirl. I should ask her for some eggs from that showgirl..I do believe they are breeding. That SG is as pretty as the boy you got from me. All white. :)

Heck yes! Maynard was the most beautiful showgirl, loved his full beard, so pretty! He has a good home with a nice guy that has some silkie mixes, but no pures. And no whites.

The roo I kept is very nice too, but no beard. Should have kept that first one. I was too scared to keep a rooster...still shaking in my boots. This one, Vinnie, is crowing pretty fiercely now, he is maturing you can tell, he is trying to court the ladies pretty hard. That very first one I got from you got me hooked though, and I have yet to get a female...after 6 batches of eggs I still have silkies or male SG. Lol it is taking forever!

What color would you call this sikie I posted pictures of? It has tons of blue down, then tan/cream and bits of reddish brown on top. I have no idea what this would turn out to be?

Not chicken related, but it's a baby! Say hello to Sam. He was born this morning.

Oh my goodness! I love this baby!! Check out that face marking! Perfect! You will have to post more pictures of him when he is standing, so we can see how he looks..on both sides. :)
