Utah!

My chickens seem to be unearthing a tarp in their run. I expanded my run significantly last summer, and the area was full of weeds and grass. But now I'm seeing what appears to be a tarp. I've lived here 7 years. I wonder what in the world the previous owners were doing to have a tarp out there.
I live in a house that was built around 1890 I have found a bunch of old glass bottles in my now garden. They are really cool.
400
Here is a few of them but i have a bunch (about 20) more. The one on the left is a Mentholatun jar, middle is a Flich's bottle, and on the right is a Bayer bottle. I also pulled a heap of broken glass out of there and there is still more.

I've also found some crazy stuff in my yard. My favorite is a meat tenderizer. I *think* all the dead bodies have been found. True story- the week before we an offer in for our house, they DID find a body in my yard.
Just have to ask

... body?? What kind of body???

I live in house that was built right around 1906 and have found old stuff my best find was a 1913 nickle that was dug up by my chickens in one of their pens.

Ha ha..good chickens.. hope you gave them an extra nice treat that day. That's one old nickle, with the buffalo right? Or, was there something before the buffalo? That's pretty old..1913.

a HUMAN body! For REALZ! The neighbor two doors down evidently had alzheimers pretty severely and should've been in a rest home. For whatever reason, the family didn't do that. They just took turns bringing her meals and looking in on her. One evening, after someone had brought her dinner, she got disoriented and wandered out of her house and into my backyard. It was winter, and she laid down and went to sleep in the yard. Never woke up. Former owners found her the next morning. It was kind of sad, if you ask me.

I dug out the tarp and there were no more bodies. I was hoping for pretty glass bottles now that I know that's possible, so I'm a little disappointed.

I took the kids to Thanksgiving Point today, and my 5 year old was so very sad with their chickens. Just about all of them had plucked out feathers on their heads, tails, and their backs were horrible. Just about all of them had bright red patchy skin on their backs. She even said to someone there, why are your chickens sick. Even thought I tried to tell her I think they were beating each other up. But could they have some kind of illness? She was so very sad, she wanted to go in and love them all. They did have some Silkies that were by themselves thank god, and they had all their feathers, but after taking a good look at their's I really wonder if I have 2 Roos, but then again they are only 2 1/2 months old. They did have a Buff, White, Black and a Partridge one, and mine don't look anything like there's. Mine are so funky looking, their awesome. I love each one, and will be sad to see 2 go, maybe I will try and sneak them all here. lol. Besides their not chickens till they are 1 years old right.
