6/8 of my remaining Icelandic eggs that were under my broody are magically gone today

I had three good eggs under her. Now I have one egg and one chick, which must have hatched in the last 24 hours. I think someone took my eggs. I am so upset! I have been trying so hard to expand my Icelandic flock, and now my precious eggs are gone. I really hope this one chick survives.

OMG, I'm so very sorry, how frustrating. Do you really think someone came into your yard/coop and took them. That is extremely bold of them to do, and I wonder if they knew they were ready to hatch. What jerks. People amaze me sometimes. I bet your chick well make it.

So I took some new photos of the Silkies for Gary to see, thought I would share them on here. If anyone can guess gender, be my guess. And what color are they. I'm sure the one is a blue splash, but now its getting copper coming in too. They change colors like every week. They are all super dirty now after the rain this morning. they were taking mud baths.


Smallest of the bunch, has tons of silver coming in on the neck.

My Camera Shy, she's like a cream color except for the blue/grey top feathers on her head.

# 1 looks like a blue, # 2 and #3 looks like splashes, and #4 looks like a Lavender splash. But I'm just guessing. I think you should keep 1/2/3 and sell me #4. Of coarse this is just a thought.

I was thinking of keeping #1 and #4 just because they are the ones that I haven't questioned as a boy. They are both the smallest. And I can't have a Roo. Plus #4 is really my daughter's favorite out of them, she calls her creamy. And packs her around the yard with our Houdan, so I would have to talk her into selling her.

Do you have any idea on their gender?

Cynthia, the little leghorns have all been named. We have Sleepy, Snow White, Fuzzy, Butter and Noname. I think my kids have lost their touch. Then of course Olivia and Olive the OE's, Amy the BLRW and Cynthia the de laware. Here she is with some about her same age.

So, I rehomed 4 of my chickens, 3 brown egg layers and a EE. Out of all the breeds I have 2/3 were brown egg layers. Now I've got a good mix I hope. I still need to get rid of a few roos if anyone would like them. A buckeye and a BO who are 8 weeks old.

Anyways, good morning and good night. Been working on a cake and we're finally done.

And, you made that cake? It's a darling cake, I'm noticing that smooth look of the icing! Is that hard to do? Way cool as the kids say.
