Sara-great job with the fondant. Angry birds? How fun! I do wedding cakes. Not so good with the figurines like that though, you are amazing with those, they are spot-on! My son is loving that cake. :drool I am noticing you posted at 5 in the morning. You need a nap! lol!

We have yet to tackle a wedding cake. We are going to do a "wedding" cake in August. It's for my sister's 2nd anniversary. It'll be zombie themed. I'm really excited for it. What type of fondant do you work with? I just started working with fondant in May. Turns out it was really easy. I was surprised at how easily it came to me. I love working with it. My sister hates it.
My sons were also very jealous about the cake. "Mom can I just have one of the guys? Plllleeeeaaassssseeeeeeee?" Lol
It was a very long night but we didnt get started till 9 pm, much easier to bake with no children and when.its cooler.

I have made my own fondant....it is so/so...but I really like for convenience the fondant I get here at Kitchen Kneads. I have only done a half dozen or so in fondant, not too many...buying th fondant made it a little more appealing haha :) I also do just the frosting, I am actually more comfortable working in icing/frosting...but I really like the way the fondant looks. I wish I could do the figurines like yours! I need more practice. I used styro dummy rounds for the two bottom layers for the last cake I made for my daughter's wedding, they only wanted the topper to save, and we bought sheet cake for the guests, so I totally cheated lol but MAN it was pretty and so straight lol ! It was solid white with baby blue flowers and black ribbon with white polka dots and white, baby blue flowers and white tulle bows on top, really cute. Had the little white pearl candy dots all over it with a diamond cut pattern in the icing. But I totally cheated on that one lol! Nobody knew but me and my daughter ;)

I am saving your picture to my files for inspiration! It turned out so adorable!

Just have to ask

... body?? What kind of body???
When we lived in calif we dug up an old body in our back yard. It was a native Indian. He had worn down teeth and no feelings in them. We had an archeologist finish the dig after we found the skull. We had a small creek running through our back yard he was lose to the stream with less than a foot of dirt over him. We thought it was cool.

Sara, that cake is absolutely awesome. Nice job!

Nope, I have not yet figured out what happened with my disappearing eggs

What's more is that last night, I checked the sole remaining egg under my broody. It had been alive and well two days ago. Last night, I could see that it was full of developing chick...........but there was no movement. I am hoping and praying that the little one makes it. I will be so incredibly upset if it was killed during whatever happened out there, as that was the best egg that I had.

Got a few pictures. The first ones are of my broody EE/SBEL/whatever she is and her babies. She started out with seven chicks - one EE hatched from her own egg, and six Silkies that I was babysitting for Jed, one of our more elusive members on here. One Silkie passed, I think from dehydration during shipping, and two others died, causes still uncertain. Here are the babies that are left:

This little one has a nice beard on it.

Here's the EE baby from my broody. This one's got a beard, too! No idea yet on gender.

And, here is my sole Icelandic baby - hoping it has a sibling soon

Precious, special little baby. It's quite feisty, too, which makes me happy. My blue Wyandotte broody hatched it out and seems very pleased.

Oh Red those chicks are so adorable! I hope the unhatched chicks still makes it. Crossing fingers! I cannot even imagine what happened to those eggs, I wondered if some sort pf predator ate them maybe, but with no shell or harmed chickens that seems less likely? Crazy!

The rains are crazy. Guess we are in monsoon season. Its cute to watch the chicks run for cover the minute a drop starts to fall. Last night I went on a ghost tour and took my grandson for his 15th birthday. it was pretty corney but he loved it. my eggs from Mad Chicken are due to hatch next Friday. I haven't candled them or anything. Its going to be completely natural. Red, did you find out what happened to your eggs?

Sara, really cute cake! Did you buy or make your fondant?

Lisa, when you made yours, was it the marshmallow fondant recipe? That's what I make. I don't really like to eat it much, but I've noticed most people do eat it when I make a cake with it.

Poorpitifulbear, that is really interesting that you came across a native american. Did the archeologist find anything else?

Sundance, I want to hear about your ghost tour? Was it worth the money? Have any haunting experiences?
