Utah!

Silly not sure what your nest box is like, but when I had one not laying in the box, I put up curtains so it seemed more secluded and they layed in the box.

Silly, I'm still giggling over the fortress nest box.

I'm having trouble because most of my birds want to lay eggs in the one corner of my henhouse. I have 9 perfectly good nest boxes. Two are occupied by broodies. But, the majority of the hens lay on the floor in the corner. Last night I moved some stuff to that corner, hoping to discourage them.

I think tonight I'm going to move my broody with the eggs to the leper colony coop so that the lav am quits laying eggs in her box and so she'll have privacy and safety once the chicks hatch. It was pretty funny- she has 7 large eggs under her. She got up to get a drink, so one of my bantam broodies ran to the box with the eggs and was trying so, so hard to cover all of them. An egg or two kept popping out the side, and she kept trying to pop it back under her. Itwas really cute and funny.

I am feeling lucky right now, for once in a very long time I have zero birds trying to brood. Hope it lasts for awhile :) My last bunch of broodies seemed to sit all summer long.

What kind of eggs you have hatching SPHINX?

Lisa, I'm hatching FBCM. At least HALF fbcm. The other two roosters are in the same pen, but of all the chicks that have popped out this year, only one was not fathered by my fbcm roo.

. The judgeing is stricter on open then is for 4-H. The Last Time I won a trophy showing birds was when I was 16 won it was on a goose that was long time ago. My boys usually win a Trophy in 4-H they got a lot of firsts and seconds. This year

Mine is the small Trophy!

Congrats Gamebirds! I want to see your trio!!

Lisa, at some point, I'll separate my chickens out so that the polish rooster won't have any competition. When that happens, I'll try to make some polish chicks for you. My polish girl took a long time to lay, but she's actually been a really good layer.
