Ok Cache Valleyians! How dare you beat me to Peterson's and buy all the close out chicken feed!

I thought I'd stop by to check and it was alllll gone! I said to the lady "Excuse me, where are your chicken supplies?" She replied, "In the pet section. And all the feed is long gone!"

Is Petersons in Logan closing?! I was so sad when they closed their clearfield location.

I want to introduce you all to my newest chicken, Phil. Phil wandered into my (chicken free) friend's yard. There's no chickens in the neighborhood and nobody has any idea where Phil came from. His daughter named the chicken and cried when my friend took Phil to me.

So, barred rock, obviously. I feel very confident that Phil is a pullet. Her comb seems too small to be a full grown hen, don't you think? I'd love to hear what you think.

Sundance, I'm sorry you're still stuck in Utah. On the up side, you didn't have to drive in bad weather, and the air is better.

Sphinx, I honestly can't tell what gender Phil is. He/she seems to have a lot of white, to me

I sure love this photo. Looks like she is being checked out pretty good, and from the look of your last photo, she seems to fit right in.

I worry a little because I'm not integrating her with healthy protocol, but I worry about her not having the warmth of the other chickens. Plus, the idea of finding another water heater and keeping water in a second container this time of year exhausts me.

Yeah, Peterson's is closing, Sphinx. I'm not sure if she's a pullet or not. We had a bantam barred rock, and her comb stayed relatively small... so, sorry I couldn't help!
