Aww, glad to hear she's doing good! Yeah!!

I now hv 2 broody's, a cochin bantam and Izzy, the tiny Red Pyle. I'm getting concerned about the cochin tho, she rarely eats or drinks and just never wants to leave the nest box. We'll kick them outside the coop today and if we have to dog crate them. That has worked before. It's a big cage and we only give them a perch and no bedding. A few days (or week) of that and they are back to normal. I do give them entertainment food and let them out to free range.

Post is you decide to get eggs and let yours hv babies.

Our rooster is a blue wheaten ameraucana. Our hens right now are: easter eggers, wyandottes (blue laced and gold), dominiques, and a sex link.

Moriah..I'm in Spanish Fork, have a couple of chicken friends up your way, one in Lindon also, and another in Pleasant Grove. There are a few of us around here that love chickens!

Some one called last night for him. She has chickens for him. I'm so happy he's going to get to live a rooster life instead of someone's dinner.

Okay our buff orpington turned out to be a roo. He's trying to crow. We can't have roos. Anyone want him? He's calm. Isn't aggressive. He's shy/cautious so runs from the kids/us but once you catch him he sits on your lap and doesn't try to attack you. He will take treats out of your hand. My 7yr old holds him all the time. I've been trying to get him to trust me by sitting down and offering him treats. Yesterday he kept watching me in the garden with curiosity and kept coming closer to see if I had anything good for him.

I wish we could keep him but he needs to go. Anyone want him? He's free. I'm in West Jordan area. Maybe we could meet half way? He's healthy He's 2 months old.

Here's a recent picture from last week

So we just added two chickens to our duck flock. We picked them up from Arlene in PG last night. We got an Easter Egger and a Blue Andolusion (sp?). I'm wanting one more chicken but I'd like to get a bantam of some sort. Does anyone know someone who has some bantam hens for sale?

so i am trying to break my broody hen and i gotta say it is not easy. if i walk into the coop i get yelled at and she keeps attacking the other girls. not fun at all. i kinda want to add two more girls to the flock. what do you all think of buff orpington's? i always see some that someone has and now cant get them out of my mind lol. i think i may want one buff orpington and a barred rock to add to the flock because i love the way they look. but i am not to sure. i would not be able to quarantine them so i am not sure how it will work. plus i would have to find some that are around the same age. i am not saying i am going to do it but i am thinking about it. so what do you think of the two breeds and what is your opinion of it all? chickens are so addicting

We had 2 buff orpingtons. One turned out to be a roo so we finally found him a home last night. They are calm, sweet. The roo never was aggressive. He would actually run from the kids but once you caught him he would sit on your lap and will eat treats out of your hand. The girl buff is really mild. Ours are still skittish cause of the 7 and 4yr old like to chase and catch them but I will sit on the ground with treats and talk to them and they are starting to come up to me.

There is an add on KSL. Her name is Arlene in PG. She has had really great descriptions listed of the different birds she has available. It was great to compare the different breeds. Seems all the ones we got are pretty calm and friendly. This is what we have. Buff orpington, Golden laced wynodatte, 2 Easter eggers, at least 1 Rhode island red possible 2. Not sure yet of the other red one. The GLW came from Arlene but the others came from IFA because at the time that's the only place we knew where to get the chicks.

Buffs get to about 8lbs and are beautiful. I'm glad we have a variety. It's fun to watch them hanging out together. I wanted the black and white barred rock/plymouth rock but they were out when we tried to get one.

Again I'm asking if anyone wants my Cochin Rooster!~? He is a Birchen coloring. Very pretty. He's a total sweetheart and really good with young chicks. Please somebody email me NOW he needs to be gone. He's about 15 weeks old. He's FREE! Oh I'm in Orem.
