Utah!

chatty aren't I. I am also in lockdown, I don't know if any of these eggs will hatch. I had a hard time regulating humidity. Dear hubby was so helpful he kept watering the eggs to help me and put way too much water in every single time. I finally bought the Brinsea 20 ex. It has the automatic humidity adder, turner and holds 20 eggs. at least it will keep hubby from watering the eggs all the time. He just didn't get it. Now he know to keep his mitts iff. If none hatch I am going to totally blame him.

Happy update :) This week has gotten so much better then the last one. I've had terrible luck with loosing new babies for the last 2 weeks but finally no more sick babies! They are all getting stronger and I dont think i'll loose anymore. My limping chick finally started to walk again on her own the last few days, and im so happy she's going to be ok. I wasent sure for a while there because i'd lost 3 within a week in a half and thought she'd go to. I was giving her liquid vitamins twice a day and I wonder if that helped at all or if it was just time she needed. But either way its so nice to see her walking around again and playing with the other chicks :) And to make my baby batch even cuter I have a new baby blue added to the group again :) I just love her pale blue with dark wings, soo cute. And I cant wait to see how she looks as an adult. :) And lil miss dixie cuddled with me on my tummy for nearly the whole movie we watched tonight :) Nice relaxing evening, now im going to bed lol. Night all!

I didn't know you had sick chicks. Keep Dixie away from that area. And always wash your hands real good before you handle any of your others after handling the ones that have been sick.
Glad that they are better. Any idea what was going on?

Well I think it was more of a vitamin deficiency issue from the breeder :s It wasent the most ideal conditions where I got them, and when I went back to get another from her after the first died, she went to their box and pulled out a few more dead chicks and the setup was in her small garage was very smelly. They all looked okay when I got them and within a few days the first one got very lethargic and wouldnt eat/drink or even wanna move. I figured it was cause it was super tiny and just was bad luck, she died a few days later and then suddently a chick got wry neck like a day later and before I could start trying to treat her, she died the next morning. About the same time I noticed my blue chick was not moving around much anymore and when I checked its feet I noticed its toes were curling in, which was so odd because it was walking fine before. It was eating/drinking still but wouldnt walk so I made it booties and that next morning it died. Then I noticed another chick limping on one leg and had no idea why. I had just began putting vitamins in their water and giving the lethargic ones polyvisol liquid vitamins by mouth twice a day. For those first few they passed so suddenly and fast before they could even get the benefits from it. It was all within the first week of having them. Now my babies are 2 weeks old and getting big and strong. Im pretty sure if it were contagious all my other strong babies would be deteriorating but they have always been fine, so dont worry about dixie. I did alot of research and everything just sounds like they were lacking vitamins probably ever sense they were an egg :( I have been giving them all vitamins in their water everyday and they are getting very active and strong :) I dont think my limping chick wouldve got better if it werent for adding those everyday. I really think thats all it was, was they werent getting enough since birth and were just weak. They are all good now. :)

I'm actually quite glad I didn't get the chicks I was planning on getting from the place you did. I was dead set on going to do that, but then I couldn't wait any longer and went to IFA lol. Their website makes you think it's a nice farm! Sorry that yours are not doing well! :( I have one chick that was quite limp, and wasn't doing well... I was finally was able to get it some electrolytes, and egg yolk last night, and she's doing a lot better today, she actually ate some regular food on her own for like 3 minutes! I was so happy! she's getting a lot more strength in her legs too... we'll see how she does over the next few days though.

ILMS, I had a cockerel that had a similar problem with a vitamin deficiency. In his case, I think it was from a narrow gene pool. I just made sure he got good food and some vitamins, and he was fine.

Sundance, you are so funny! One of my uncles made the remark at my wedding that Lisa was hot, haha. I just said yes, she is very pretty, then gave him a look.

I've been battling my still air for two days, now, to try and get it at the right temp and humidity for my turkey eggs. Apparently, 101.5 degrees is nigh impossible for that machine :/ Yer killin me, smalls!

I'm guessing your temp guage is impossible to hit 101..mine won't. It is either 100, or 102. I like 102 in the bator that I'm using.

I don't think Arlene is in business this year. I think they are referring to Chase. BTW Chase is only a few blocks away from me so if you do get chicks from her stop by and say hi
