Utah!

I think she got them from Chase, because she wanted to get some from me and asked where they came from. But I already told Sundance she could have the 3. Hope they are looking Girlie. I re-homed one of the White Ones, and it went with the White Chipmunk Partridge, because it was looking like a Rooster, it was already getting really red, so I was like nope, you have to go. I still have one lovely bright white, and its still black skin, no comb. Fingers crossed.

So my stupid incubator spiked to 104 today after lock down. Glad I decided to go look for wigglers and not just ignore it like I kept telling myself. I got it down, and it went right back up to 104 after 2 hours. I think I'm going to be a nervous wreck all night long. I made it to day 18 and have 7 really good wigglers, that I will freak out if I cook them. Wish I had Reds problem right now. All my wigglers are Ameruacana's and 1 EE and 1 OE that I noticed, and its every time I look in there if I talk to them those ones start wiggling. :D

I'm actually quite glad I didn't get the chicks I was planning on getting from the place you did. I was dead set on going to do that, but then I couldn't wait any longer and went to IFA lol. Their website makes you think it's a nice farm! Sorry that yours are not doing well! :( I have one chick that was quite limp, and wasn't doing well... I was finally was able to get it some electrolytes, and egg yolk last night, and she's doing a lot better today, she actually ate some regular food on her own for like 3 minutes! I was so happy! she's getting a lot more strength in her legs too... we'll see how she does over the next few days though.
Ya I was not too pleased with her setup at all. The websight does make it look like a big nice place but I was surprised by how small and smelly everything was :( Her silkies are beautifully bearded so I am happy with their quality but I question how well she cares for her birds because half of mine were weak and kept having vitamin deficiency problems. But they are all fine now probably because ive been supplementing their water with vitamins and started giving them scrambled eggs as a snack which they love! :) I dont want cynthia to worry about dixie because they are all healthy and happy now thank goodness but it was an emotional first week in a half with these guys and the breeder didnt sound very sympathetic when I told her more had died. I would ask her if she had anymore and she'd reply "sorry to hear, and yes I do" and thats it. I went back once and bought another which is still doing fine, but after the second one died I decided it was because she didnt care for her birds well and I didnt want to go back and take a chance of loosing anymore from her. Im just relieved that the rest of my babies are doing ok now. :)

sorry that so many died :( that is really hard. I'm struggling with the one I have... she made me think she might get better.... but I'm not holding out much hope.

By the way, did you find a home for the 3 you were selling? just was curious :) I can't have any more until I find out if any are roos... especially if this little black japanese bantam makes it.

ILMS, I had a cockerel that had a similar problem with a vitamin deficiency. In his case, I think it was from a narrow gene pool. I just made sure he got good food and some vitamins, and he was fine.

Sundance, you are so funny! One of my uncles made the remark at my wedding that Lisa was hot, haha. I just said yes, she is very pretty, then gave him a look.

I've been battling my still air for two days, now, to try and get it at the right temp and humidity for my turkey eggs. Apparently, 101.5 degrees is nigh impossible for that machine

Yer killin me, smalls!

Have to .. have to ask..did you get those chicks in Pleasant Grove?? Arlene? It's ok to say, have been trying to keep people away from her. They should know!

I did not get anything from Chase hatchery, but this little girl is just absolutely tiny! you know how small bantam cochins are? she was like half their size. Anyways, I got her from Cal Ranch, because she was getting picked on, and I felt bad for her :) (I'm a complete tender heart... in all honesty, I probably would have taken them all if I could lol!!!)

Silkies came from Cackle Hatchery, if you liked the looks and wanted to order direct to avoid the aforementioned problems....I checked on getting some silkies from her and that is where she said the parent stock came from....they were pricey though for hatchery quaility I thought. Now hearing about the conditions I will be glad I waited.

Oh Red you make me laugh, giving your uncle the "behave yourself buddy" look. You guys are making me feel good today so thanks so much :D I needed that. My feet hurt from the heels and I sat around feeling frightfully frumpy in my sweats all day. Bleh. Sure was a good concert though! I love Classical, theater, and opera, so it was such a wonderful night! Those boys are easy on the eyes too, wink wink, so I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Not sure about my DH though  He is such a trooper.

My little silkie from Cynthia is in with two chicks the same size in my garage brooder, and seems quite happy, he was playing around in the shavings this afternoon and chirping away. He makes super cute noises.
