Utah!

Rural, that sounds fun! Why so far away? :/

Lisa, if you are not wanting a splash girl...aahaa...I'll take that instead of the black. he he...Does look like a splash.

Hi peeps...I took some new pictures of my three little chicks that came from my frizzled hen. Still not sure what to make of the two without the frizzle gene. They look like Silkies bout are smooth feathered. also what color would you call them? The two smooth look like splash but have a few dark feathers coming in. The little sizzle is mostly white but has random black and blue feathers. They are much prettier in real life. Sorry picture heavy.

Oh it is so much fun!! I like it almost as much as Christmas :) It is kind of hard that we live so far out into the sticks but we get people that come every year from Northern Utah and Southern Idaho because it is such a fun event and a fun way to celebrate Pioneer Day. The best part is that they sell a half a cantaloupe with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center. I love it!! Bring a camp trailer and you can camp out at our ranch for the weekend :)

I use to be able to travel .. a lot! But not anymore. Camper..heck ya. I would so go for that if I could right now. We have been talking about getting one of those little tent trailers. Funny, we keep getting smaller and smaller. We had a very large Motor home, then down to a nice size trailer, and now we're talking tent trailer. We would just camp close by. :)

Gary, I think those smooth feathered silkies are darling!

So a couple of days ago, I took away the chicken eggs my turkey had been on for a day or two. I set them on top of the coop and then totally forgot about them because I was tired. Today, the turkey had gotten off her turkey eggs and was sitting on the chicken eggs on top of the coop.......sigh. That dummy. Now I don't know that she'll have ANY babies hatch, at all. I scribbled a big X on the chicken eggs and set them back in the coop. I don't want her out in that blazing sunlight. I can't see the list of emoticons on my phone, but I would be doing the one that's hitting it's head on the wall about now.

I bet you will still get a hatch. I've had that happen that a hen got egg confused and put her back on nest. They all hatched despite being without mom for 24 hours

Hey Gary, I candled those Silkie eggs tonight, and just thought I would let you know that all 3 Splash are growing, and so is the White Silkie. The other LF egg doesn't look like it, but I left it with her. I'll check again in a few days on that one before I pull it. But just wanted to let you know that your White is fertile. :D Lets just hope that all 4 hatch, that would be awesome, and I might finally get a Splash of something.

Lisa I'm still interested in a Splash Maran if you get a few. If not I might have to try my luck out with some eggs. :D
