How cute is that! She is very very pretty. I love her color. The egg looks green? Light green? or is it blue....
Do you notice any differences between the True Ameracaunas and the EE's? We were told our white one was a true Ameracauna but I think she is just an EE. Eggwise----Her eggs are blue-ish green, sometimes more grayish blue. It is funny how the shade varies a bit from week to week. Her first egg was deep bright blue, the next one a lot lighter, then slowly have had more of a green tint to them. Attitude wise she is very docile and sweet. She hardly ever makes any noise at all, she has a small voice.

Thanks for the compliment, I think she is a pretty girl. The egg used to be more blue, likes yours, when she first started to lay. Now it is more of a blue green, can't tell that well in the picture. Sure is still a small egg though. But on the other hand, a lot bigger than her first, it was tiny. The same size as my cochin bantams'.
The only thing I can tell the difference between the EE and the Ameraucanas are the leg colors. The true Ameraucana has the slate color of leg, while the EE has the green tint. Weird thing is, there are EE's with the slate leg. You have to go to the ameraucana thread, they really get into the breed/genetics there.

I just know that I like them both. They look alike to me.

Oh, loved watching the picture sequence. She really is beautiful.

I'm so excited. I got my incubator back today, and I fired it up to make sure it works, and it does!!

I won an auction for some golden laced wyandotte eggs. They have to be shipped, so I'm really worried about that. I don't know what I was thinking, asking someone to mail eggs 2000 miles away during the busiest mail week of the year, which also happens to be winter. Seriously, I'm an idiot! I've noticed though that the post office seems to be more efficient than usual this time of year, and I think eggs tolerate a bit of cold better than heat. Or, I'm deluding myself into thinking things will be great.

Agree. They are really fun! My white 'EE' does have slate legs, so I guess it is possible, you never know

I will have to learn more about this stuff as I go, who knew chickens could be so simple and so complicated all at the same time. Before I got them I did not even realize there were more than two or three kinds haha! I just never noticed

One last post today I wanted to share. I have a broody bantam that stays broody constantly. When we break her of it (it takes forever) , usually she is back to broody in a couple weeks. Well, today, my chicken friends, my little girl came off the nest at 1 pm and has not been back. AND I just went out to shut the coop door and she was sleeping on the roost. First night in weeks. So in a week or so I should be getting cute little eggs from her again. YAY!!! I have to wonder why.....last night I put a bale of straw in the run, left it tied up and everything, I wanted to see how they would react to it. They played around on it all day, picked at it, got straw all over, it was great. She came out this afternoon to see what all the fun was about and she was rolling around in it, trying to eat it....I am wondering if that kept her mind off her nest sitting long enough to break her mood. I will never know, but I am so glad she is back! (celebrating little triumphs here....)
