Came back on and see that the other one came up..I did have it zoomed in on her..lol..so, it must have just taken more time. Lisa, she actually made a warning noise at me when I reached in and took a couple of eggs from the other nest boxes..Guess I was too close? She has never done that before, I thought, oh no, don't go broody. I put my hand near her, and she just tuckered down. Glad she got up and left..I don't need a broody mom right now.
Thanks for the compliment, I think she is a pretty girl. The egg used to be more blue, likes yours, when she first started to lay. Now it is more of a blue green, can't tell that well in the picture. Sure is still a small egg though. But on the other hand, a lot bigger than her first, it was tiny. The same size as my cochin bantams'.
The only thing I can tell the difference between the EE and the Ameraucanas are the leg colors. The true Ameraucana has the slate color of leg, while the EE has the green tint. Weird thing is, there are EE's with the slate leg. You have to go to the ameraucana thread, they really get into the breed/genetics there.
I just know that I like them both. They look alike to me.
