The lower picture is more of the true color. Off white with grey streaks. I think the pattern will be awesome. I still can't tell on gender yet. The comb is a pea comb and still small. It is six weeks old today.

Leave them be. A month ago, my broody hatched some on day 23. I honk it was due to the cooler temps. I'd give it a little longer if it were me.As of today (friday) My eggs under the broody will be on day 22 and haven't lipped or anything .. should I be worried or just leave them be?

What a coincidence! I plugged my heatlamp in to get the brooder setup and, pop there goes the bulb. Now I need to head off for a new bulb. Dangerous place to be heading this time of year.OMG, I have to run to the feed store... My **** heat light blew. So they are all under a 100 watt light bulb. They seem fine right now. But I need to run and get one. I so hope I don't come home with anything other then my sisters 2 Cuckoo Maran's that I need to pick up..... Anyways I locked down 32 eggs, I have 25 babies. I really had 27, but 2 of them hatched but didn't thrive. Not sure they were dead in the incubator this morning. They hatched overnight.. I had 1 that pipped on the wrong end Wed Night, and yesterday morning it wasn't breathing. I kind of feel bad because I kept looking in there to see if I could see it moving, and thought I did, but after a few hours I decided I should break it open a little more since it was on the narrow end, and the chick wasn't breathing anymore. So sad, my only 2 Silkies didn't make it. This morning I candled and tapped to see if the last few eggs were moving or chirping. They all looked like they must have died when it spiked. But not bad. 25 babies going on a road trip...![]()
