Hey peeps...if a chicken dies, are we required to get a necropsy done? I have a hen who is not doing well....I don't know if she'll make it much longer. I suspect she's egg bound, but I've tried the warm bath, and dark warm room. Its not working... I've tried to feed her some boiled egg, she took one bite, and went back to closing her eyes.... Anyways... What's the typical cost if you have to get a necropsy done?

Leave them be. A month ago, my broody hatched some on day 23. I honk it was due to the cooler temps. I'd give it a little longer if it were me.

Brian, I went through their facebook address. If you type in cock collars in the search engine it comes right up. She's on there replying to everyones comments. She's very nice and sends the collars out the same day you order. It only takes me a week to get mine. I wonder if you went through the right website. She has a website that she posts on there to. It's probably different. Let me check. You should be able to find her easily on facebook just by typing in cock collars. Her name on there is Amands Houdans.

I need to pick up some Velcro one of these days and make a collar for my backup roo. He is obnoxiously loud and has the IQ of a rock, so he'll go off at 2:30 am....... I sleep through it, but oh, my poor neighbors!

I need to cut down my roo numbers from four to two. One boy will likely go to the soup pot. I am in a dilemma with the other. He is very gentle with humans, but he keeps getting beat up by my dominant boys. I cringe at the thought of putting him on KSL or sending him to camp. I've had him since he was a little baby and needed my help to get well (severe pasty butt) Ugh, just venting. Sorry.

So I did it, I had to get me a Welsummer. I've always wanted one. So I got me one and my sister one just in case. And then the Cuckoo Maran's that I need to take out to her, and I also bought me one too. So now I have 31 peepers in the house. Hope they all do okay in the car on Monday.

thanks so much for all the information! She got back to me quickly (just like you said) and let me know that they did get the order and it will be on its way. I was just curious about how the website I ordered from disappeared the next day so my thoughts were that someone was pretending to be her. I messaged her to let her know in case of any fraudulent activities she was unaware of. She let me know they changed their domain of the website so the site I ordered from is no longer there but they still got my order Everything is all cleared up now.
I heard chirps in the eggs when my broody left the nest to eat so let's hope I get chicks tonight

So I was sitting with the chicks, and was checking them all out since I had a minute and the only Houdan I got to hatch has a toe issue. I should be okay right? The 4/5th toes are attached together which appears to have a 6th toe in there.
